Dropship Miniature

Mounted on motion control rigs, the ‘dropship’ model was mostly shot live action with multiple passes and composited into shots. Towards the end of the show this ship was rendered in 3D. Photos like this were used to create the texture maps.

Motion Control Rig

One of several rigs designed to shoot ships on repeatable passes to generate multiple layers for compositing: beauty pass, shadow pass, interactive lighting pass, etc.
